Pomegranate Lucky charm (II)

Α pomegranate lucky charm made of wood, painted by hand and decorated with colorful ribbons! 

The pomegranate symbolised fertility in Ancient Greece and Rome.

It had a strong association to Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love, as well as Hera, the Greek goddess of marriage and childbirth!

 In the modern Greek tradition  the pomegranate now being a symbol primarily of prosperity and good fortune.

Habitually, a single fruit is hung up above the door of the house on Christmas Day!
